Branching timelines

The picture in which a change in history produces another continuing world.

Branching is one common way to keep both an old history and a new one. This archive treats that picture as a way of talking, unless and until a sourced scientific result is being cited. Temporary Timeline asks whether every branch must persist as a full world.
