Concept

Thought experiment

A structured imaginary scenario used to test a concept, not to report a measurement.

A thought experiment can be useful without being true of the world. In this archive it is a device for pressing on an idea — identity, time, responsibility — until the hidden choice in ordinary language shows up. It is not evidence that the scenario could be built.
